The other day we took the kids to Robert Is Here, a tropical fruit stand in south Florida. Each of the kids chose a fruit to share and try at home.
Sassyfras picked this dragon fruit. This is what it looked like inside. Its texture was like a kiwi, but it tasted like a cross between kiwi and pear to us.
The apple bananas tasted pretty much like a regular banana to us. We left a couple to ripen longer and we'll see if there is any difference in taste. They are cute little bananas though.
Who knew that Papa was an expert at cracking coconuts. He took a hammer and gentle pounded around the center of it until it cracked in half. Little J was so impressed!
This fresh coconut tasted delicious! Hmm, now what to make with it...

Oh, I love the idea of letting each person choose a fruit to try and share! What fun and what a great learning experience for all of you!
This is on our summer bucket list, too.
That sounds like a neat fruit stand!
I've never tried any of those fruits. Not sure where I'd find them around here, either!
Brimful, yes, it was nice to take advantage of our current location. I'm pretty sure we can get coconuts, although maybe not as tasty, at home. I know we wouldn't find the other fruit though.
