Yesterday was cold and rainy. We decided a bit of baking would add a little fun to a dreary day. Little J made this chocolate ganache cake, from Barefoot Contessa Parties! by Ina Garten, for dessert. We've made it a few times in the past and it is always heavenly.
Reading a recipe, following its directions, and encountering fractions is a great way for kids to use math skills.

How fun! Did you read through or picture walk the cookbook?
Thanks for linking to Read.Explore.Learn.
We have done picture cards for recipes in the past, however Little J is reading well now and did the recipe on his own. I did the ganache part as I'm not ready to let him deal with boiling water yet. Thanks for stopping by.
Chocolate Ganache is always delicious - and what kid doesn't love baking?!
Oh my gosh! Absolutely heavenly! I wish I had a (BIG) piece of this right now!
Yummy!
