After School Link Up, Minion Olympic Birthday

Welcome to the After School Link Up!

Juiciness celebrated his 6th birthday "Minion Olympic" style at a local kids' gym. He loves the Despicable Me movies and since the Olympics were happening, we merged the two for a fun theme at the gym.  The staff at the gym really made it fun for the kids.  He actually climbed to the ceiling in the picture below!

The flags that the minions are holding are found at Mr Printables.
While we were looking for flags, we found this neat interactive world map and flags at My Science Academy.

Other than cake and "El Macho Nachos", we served mostly fruit.  We picked out the colors of the Olympic rings…blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, bananas, and green grapes.

We made some Q & A Olympic trivia cards so we could learn more about the Olympics.

Juiciness made a torch using a paper towel tube wrapped in gold paper.  We stuffed yellow and orange tissue paper in the top to make the flames.

Our favors were gold medals found at Michael's, and wipe off boards with washable markers in the Olympic colors found in the dollar bins at Target.
