Printable Christmas Countdown Activities, After School

Welcome to the After School Party!
fun advent calendars for kids

I finally finished our advent activity cards! I used Microsoft Word to do a basic document. The die-cut elements made them so cute though! I think my kids will enjoy them. My cards are 5x7, but I couldn't get Scribd. to like that size, so they will print at 8.5x11.

Our cards have an activity, a book to read (I put a couple of chapter books on the list to read over a few days), and bible verse for each day.  Many of the activities are our family favorite holiday traditions.  In addition to our list we do the usual drive to see lights, put up our Christmas tree and manger, and general merriment.  Our version of the Elf on the Shelf will arrive sometime shortly after Thanksgiving.  I usually don't do too many elfcapades, but we do have a little fun with him. Other than these activities we generally try to limit parties, focus on family time, and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Last week I shared our "Secret Stories Society", a book club aimed at increasing comprehension and writing strategies. So, I thought I would highlight a link that caught my eye regarding literacy skills.

Little House on the Prairie activities

Missy from Dot to Dot Connections has started a unit around the Little House and the Prairie series with her children. She is reading aloud to them as they work on related projects and then they discuss their work and reading. She's even started a Pinterest board of activities that go along with the series.

Hi! I love your countdown. It says that you have listed it as private so I can't download. Can you make the scribd file public?? Thanks!!
