Summer's Best Citrus-Ade to Make with Kids

Since the dog days of summer are here, this activity was a great pull from our summer bucket list.  The activity was actually "make lemonade or limeade", but a local restaurant makes a citrus-ade that we all love so we went for it.

Look how hard they are working those little handwriting muscles!

Summer's Best Citrus-ade
10 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
6 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
6 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
8 oz simple sugar syrup (bring 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water to boil and stir until sugar is dissolved.  Cool mixture)
40 oz of water

Mix all the ingredients together and adjust sugar and water to taste.  You may want to add the last 8 oz of water slowly so you don't dilute the juice beyond your preference.  Serve over lots of ice and garnish with an orange slice.  Sit in the shade and enjoy!
