Cooking with Kids, 14 Days of Ways to Show Your Kids You Love Them

Instead of doing a "10 Easy and Inexpensive Ways to Show Your Kids You Love Them" post for February, I thought I would invite you to join me for 14 days of ways to show your kids you love them. A little something to do each day leading up to Valentine's Day. Now this isn't meant to mysteriously stop the day after Valentine's Day, it's just a little something fun and a way to get started doing little things each day. Nor is it meant to take the place of saying "I love you" a million times a day.

Cook with them...
Again, the gift of quality time with your kids shows them you love them. Many kids enjoy cooking. We spent some time baking cookies today.  You don't have to make homemade cookies for kids to feel loved, just get in the kitchen with them and make something everyone enjoys eating together.

Ways to show your kids love

Today I defrosted leftover sugar cookie dough from Christmas and we made heart shaped cookies together.  We read some of our favorite Valentine books while they cooked...and then while we ate the cookies!

The polka dot tablecloth is actually a couple of yards of nice oilcloth from a local fabric shop. I have found this protects the table better, cleans up easier, and last longer than vinyl tablecloths.

Ah, what a cool little series :) Joining in with you by making Apricot Muffins today. I'll plan a little theme night in a few days time.
