I'm planning a lucky 7 day countdown to St. Patrick's Day. I thought I'd do a little bit nonfictional teaching mixed with a lot of fun. I purchased rainbow colored bags and labeled them 7-1 and then pulled out our Halloween cauldron to use as our pot of gold on St.Patrick's Day. Inside each bag is (will be) a slip with the activities of the day.
Red- Rainbows
Orange- Ireland
Yellow-St. Patrick
Green- Shamrocks
Blue- Potatoes
Indigo- Snakes
Purple- Leprechauns
Black Pot- The Leprechaun's goodies
These are the slips for each bag.

St. Patrick's Day Countdown Numbers
The leprechaun usually leaves things like Lucky Charms for breakfast, some golden chocolate coins, some little outdoor toys for spring break, and maybe a book or two.
I used a 3 inch scallop punch to make the numbers.

i just love this! st patricks day is one of my fav holidays. (prob b/c of the silliness of it!) it's so much fun to have fun with! my boys are older 1st & 3rd but still look forward to waking up to see what the pesky leprechauns did during the night! over turned chairs, all the green trucks & cars in a line in the playroom, underwear on the ceiling fan, etc.
i teach 4 year olds so maybe i'll do this little countdown w/ them!
i love so many of your ideas and so glad you share them!
