Max and Ruby Party, Twins Turn 3

Juiciness and Sassyfras turned 3 this past week and we celebrated this weekend.    Juiciness is 18 minutes older than his sister, Sassyfras. They have grown into such sweet little people. I feel so blessed to be there mom.

They love Max and Ruby and when they are allowed to watch TV, this is what they request. They love all the books as well. Juiciness loves Max's Dragon Shirt and Sassyfras loves Bunny Cakes. So, I thought this would make a great theme for their party.

Max and Ruby's grandmother has a secret ingredient in her lemonade...it's a "hint of mint".

If you don't know about Max and Ruby, you must know that Max's worm cakes are one of his specialties.  These cupcakes are topped with Oreo crumbs to look like dirt and gummy worms.  Ruby loves to plant flowers, so there are also a few colorful flower cupcakes.

The toppers were downloaded from Rosemary Wells's site here.  There is Max and Ruby of course, then Walkie Talkie Bear, Wind Up Robot, Can't Sit Up Slug, and Curly Shirly cut outs available.

Max and Ruby's Ice Cream Parlor was a hit.  Juiciness and Sassyfras loved making their own Sundaes.

The waffle bowls were dipped in melted chocolate and sprinkled with rainbow jimmies.

We had ice cream with all sorts of delicious toppings.  I made hot fudge sauce using the recipe at the end of the post and caramel sauce using this recipe

The party favors were chocolate dipped strawberries with chopped hazelnuts.

Sassyfras loved her new hot pink crocs from her big brother and her new pink scooter from her grandparents.

Juiciness also loved his new green crocs from Little J.  I think they loved the paper and boxes quite a bit too!

Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe
3 Squares unsweetened chocolate
½ cup butter
½ cup cocoa
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup half and half
1 ½ tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler. Add cocoa and half the sugar and mix. Add cream, remaining sugar, and salt. Bring to boiling point, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Store in refrigerator.
