What's in the Stocking?, Easy Christmas Game for Kids

What's in the stocking game

I asked each of the kids to go find a few small items in the house and bring them secretly to me so I could put them into a Christmas stocking.  Then I added a few common items myself and invited the kids to sit with me.  We took turns passing the stocking and reaching in to identify an object with only our hands.

Sounds fun - and I bet it only ups the excitement of what'll be in the stocking to come :-)

Clever idea! My daughter likes to fill ours with random items around the house then have everyone open them. We'll have to play your guessing game next time.

I love that they were in on the secret as to what some of the objects were.

Great idea! Love using the stocking for fun instead of just presents.

That does sound rather fun. Wonder if it would tempt my girls.

I love this game - and Christmas Stocking makes it even more fun. Daughter just bookmarked a similar activity in the science book that she was reading and told me that she wants to play this game. I think we will use your variation now.
