North Pole Elf!

We were away this weekend and returned to find this little guy sitting in our tree.

His name is Nicholas and he is "our elf" sent by Santa from the North Pole.  He will stay with us until Christmas Eve when Santa will pick him up when he comes for a visit.  He goes back to the North Pole each night to give Santa updates and we never know where we will find him in the morning.  We aren't allowed to touch him either, or he could loose his elf magic.

He left this note for us.

The kids love to look for him each morning and I love to say, "Nicholas is watching" and see wide eyed kiddos quickly shape up!

Fun! I have thought about doing this, but haven't yet.

We've been doing the Elf on the Shelf for the past 3 years now. It is such a wonderful tradition! A was 4 when we started, and we wondered if it was a little too late to get it going with him, but it's become one of his favourite parts of celebrating the Christmas season.
