Young Preschooler Fine Motor Morning

Juiciness and Sassyfras spent the morning working on several fine motor activities.  I say work, but they really love doing these activities and spent A LOT of time doing them.

Homemade pumpkin scented play dough filled with creepy spiders to find.

"Pumpkin" transfer

Spider and bug transfer.
Using the small tongs, they took the spiders out of the cauldron and placed them on the big spider's web.

Juiciness was extremely determined to get all the spiders out of the cauldron and did this over and over.

I put about 4 trays together at a time and leave them out (except for the play dough is in the art cabinet) for a few days before changing them.  They are usually a variety of subjects going along with our theme for the week.

Thank you for sharing these great ideas with us at the Play Academy. I often recommend play dough for fine motor skills development ...and for creative play, and for sensory play - can you tell I love play dough :)
Hope you'll come and share with us this Friday too.
