Sunday Morning Waffles

I made a batch of overnight waffles using this recipe and did a pumpkin walnut topping

This was my pumpkin walnut topping recipe: 
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 1/4 cup of light brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat .  Then add 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix), a good sprinkle of cinnamon and a little nutmeg and cook for a few minutes on medium low heat.  Add about 1/4 cup of toasted walnut pieces and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and heat for another few minutes.  Serve on top of pancakes or waffles with a dollop of real whip cream.
