Tucker's Apple Dandy Day Go Along Craft

Paper bag apples

We read the book, "Tucker's Apple Dandy Day" by Susan Winget.  This is an adorable book about a group of school animals that visit an apple orchard.  It is filled with ways friends can show kindness to one another as well as fall apple fun.

For our stART project, the kids painted the bottom portion (and more) of a lunch bag.  I will have to admit the painting ran a little amuck this time.  Sassyfras started painting her stomach and Juiciness had a taste test that left him looking like the Joker.  Thank goodness bathtime was right after this project!

I turned the bags upside down on bottles to dry.

Once dried, the kids crumpled up newspaper to stuff the bags (I think this may have been their favorite part) and twisted a green pipe cleaner with a leaf cutout around the top portion.

Oh my oh my oh my, these are soooo cute! You know, you could use them as little gift bags even? Wouldn't a granny or a neighbour just love some homebaked cookies or a real apple packaged like this?!?!

Thank you so much for linking up to Kids Get Crafty! Much appreciated!!!

Maggy,

I love your idea! We may just have to make some apple muffins and pack them up for our Grammy and Pop now.

They turned out great!

Sounds like they really got into the painting. My son still gets upset when he gets paint on his hands and then the craft time quickly ends.
