Scarecrow Theme Activities

The object of this tray is to choose a number and then place the correct number of crows on the scarecrow's hat.  Juiciness and Sassyfras were able to do this appropriately 1-4, but needed help after that.  Juiciness was more interested in counting their eyes!

Fine Motor
I put out yellow pop beads as pretend corn and asked them to string enough corn together for the crows.

Dramatic Play
I found these wooden scarecrow masks at a local craft store in their clearance bin and thought the kids might enjoy them.  I gave them a set of washable markers and a mirror to check themselves out in and let them go.

I love the mask, we get those from time to time and they're always wildly popular until it breaks.

All wooden crafts are very popular here - daughter clearly prefers "utilitarian art". I like your ideas!

Now, that's a math activity to "crow" about! :0)
