Apples, Apples, Apples

apple picking ideas

Although Juiciness and Sassyfras are attending preschool 2 mornings a week, we will still be doing many fun learning activities at home.  For the next couple of weeks we will be studying all things apples.  To kick off this fun theme, our family visited an apple orchard and picked, and picked, and PICKED apples.

The orchard we visited had honey crisp, red delicious, and golden delicious apples ready for picking.  The trees and apples were low enough for everyone to get plenty to pick.  It was fun listening to their squeals when they found an apple to pick (which wasn't hard as the trees were covered with them).

We ended our afternoon by enjoying some fresh, cold apple cider!

Stay tuned for more apple fun...

Starting a theme with apple picking sounds like a great idea. I am wondering if we manage to go apple picking this year - maybe in October.
