Learning While Playing with Train Sets

We have a little nook off the playroom area just the right size for a train table to fit.  Under the table are some bins that contain extra track and train pieces.  There is a chair to the corner that I leave train books in to read to them as they play.  The kids love this area.

There are so many things to do and learn while playing with trains...
Elicit language and sounds...

Have crashes...

Become an engineer and design a new track layout...

Learn cooperation and how to take turns...

Learn about "Time out"...

Make new friends...

Line them up and count...

I know several young lads who would be very envious of your train table.. actually several young lasses also.

Loved the pictures.

My kids randomly got their trains out again a few days ago after not playing with them at all for months and played with them for a good long time, until a monster attacked and destroyed the tracks.

How neat that you have such a great train table. Our Barnes & Noble used to have one, and Anna loved it. She loves to play with her train set, but she has to put it away every time she plays since we don't really have space to have it out on the floor.
