Color Changing Milk

We're learning about rainbows, sunny, and rainy weather this week.  Today we did a milk color changing experiment.  I thought it would be fun for them to see the colors mix.  You can find the full directions and reasons behind why this works at Steve Spangler's Science.  Little J did the experiment for us and Sassyfras and Juiciness eagerly watched.  There were lots of squeals and ooh's from them.

You will need a pie dish, milk, Dawn soap, and food coloring.  We chose to use just red, yellow, and blue.

Fill the bottom of the pan with milk.

Add a drop of each color and then a drop of Dawn.

You can see all the hands eager to touch.  They were calling out colors as they mixed and appeared.
